Fabrics

Performance garment must stretch to move with the body. Therefore, all of our garments are constructed with spandex, the elastic fiber that moves and reshapes. Embellishments such as sequin, rhinestones, and trim are carefully applied so that stretch is not compromised.

The following is a spandex fabric guide:

Description	Finishes	Description and Wear Factors
Nylon Tricot	Shiny Matte	Withstands years of wear, especially heavier weights such as “cycle” or “8000.”
Velvet	Flat Panné or Crushed Glitter	Generally made of polyester and spandex. Flat and panné finishes withstand years of wear. Glitter finishes will wear with abrasion, sweat and repeated washings.
Slinky	Flat Glitter	The drape of this fabric emulates it's name, it has a definite slinky hang. This heavy fabric will “grow”, therefore, store garments flat. Glitter finishes will deteriorate with abrasion, sweat and repeated washings.
Mesh	Flat Glitter Nula (sequin look)	This fabric is transparent, allowing the skin to show through. There are a variety of meshes, from very fine to large and open. This fabric is generally light weight and drapes well for skirts. Flat mesh will withstand years of wear. Glitter finishes and nula finishes will wear with abrasion, sweat and repeated washings.
Novelty Spandex	Holographic Mist “Sequin Look” Glitter	These fabrics are created by applying a a special treatment of hologram, shiny, mist or “sequin” like treatments to a base fabric of nylon spandex. The benefit of using these fabrics is the sparkle and flash the fabric provides. However, these fabrics are the most susceptible to wear and deterioration. Avoid these fabrics if your garment must withstand rigorous wear.
Supplex® or microfiber	Flat, “cotton look”	High tech fabric that is made to “wick” perspiration away from the body. Great fabric for fitness or practice apparel. Made to withstand rigorous wash and wear.
Cotton	Flat	Highly absorbent. Subject to color fading and shrinkage with repeated washings.
